The guinea pigs head to Japan

The news of Japan’s reopening came a few days after we had all filled in the incredibly complicated Visa applications (helped by Phil who kindly provided us with the Japanese words to complete the application!); navigated the incredibly complex WebJapan website to apply for pre-registration for quarantine procedures; and loaded the “MySOS” app on our phones so that we could get the necessary blue screen to streamline our entry into Japan

Why are we guinea pigs, I hear you ask?

Because we are going on a northern tour of Japan which the brochure describes as “For Sunday walkers and friends”. And the Sunday walkers include Sara, Sally, Les, James, Julie and hosted by our wonderful tour guide and organiser, Satoko, and ably assisted by her partner, Phil.

So you are receiving this blog to warn you that in about 10 days time, you will be joining the Sunday walkers and friends vicariously to share their guinea pig experience
