June 27: Antibes and Nice
We spent the morning at Antibes’ fruit and vegetable market. A magnificent display of colour. So many different types of tomatoes, and the apricots and peaches have REAL flavour ….none of that cold storage feel!

I was intrigued by all the different coloured cheeses….who’s seen green or red cheese before?

This picture is taken in front of the restaurant we ate at last night. Transformed into a bustling marketplace.

Found several pairs of shoes that you could rent for the bargain price of 29 euros/month.

Robyn and I then hopped on a train to spend the rest of the day in Nice, to visit the old city which is right on the coast.

The old city has a really nice ambience. Lots of historic buildings, narrow streets and squares filled with restaurants, where you can sit and watch the passing parade.

Lots of art in the old city, including this display of ugly creatures.

We ate at numerous places throughout the day – Robyn was happy because she finally got to eat a salad nicoise and Sara was happy because she found a lovely linen dress.

Some interesting art at the Museum of Contemporary Art, as well as great views of Nice.

And this little guy greeted us as we arrived at the station to go home, clearly offended that we’d had such a nice day without him!
