Jaunting in Japan with Lesley and Sara

Day Minus 21: Preparation and anticipation
There’s a lot of paperwork when you do a self-guided walk: 56 pages of the walking guidebook; 16 pages summarising the day-to-day itinerary and transport options; and 12 pages giving information about the trail. So Lesley and i thought this was a good reason to get together for a coffee, and plough through the documents.

There’s also 24 pages of the Tourist’s Language Book, so i will be able to ask where i can find an animation character goods shop (!), the police station, and most importantly, the 100-yen shop; or I can ask for my yakitori without coriander!!!
The book is a bit outdated, having been published in 2012, so it still tells me how to ask ” Do you take travellers’ cheques”!
Anyway, we fly out tonight, and i’m just testing that you are receiving us. We’ll see you in the trail.
