Day 9: Kamikochi

Spent a large part of the day walking alongside the river, and through the forests of Kamikochi.

The Kappa-bashi bridge is an iconic symbol of Kamikochi. Originally a drawbridge it was rebuilt in 1910 as a suspension bridge. The present bridge, which was completed in 1997, is the fifth generation of this famous symbol.

James and Julie came across a group of monkeys and Les came across a group of girls who wanted a photo with this very tall man

Dinner was really special. An authentic Japanese dinner called Azusa kaiseki with 8 courses. Particularly special were the square cedar wood cups from which to drink sake, and the origami decorating some of the courses representing autumn
