Day 7: Jaipur
Today was mainly a rest day at the hotel….so here’s what our room looks like, and bit more of the surrounds.

At each of the hotels we have received lovely gifts – scarves for the women (and men got hats). One of the gifts was accompanied by a frangipani leaf with a hand written message written to us. Customer service here has been amazing.
Our travel company has also given us gifts, the main one being a beautiful sari so that we could attend our session tonight on Indian cookery and dinner with the host in Indian attire!
And here we are ready to go to dinner. Needed lots of help to assemble the saris which are 5 metres long!

We were taken to a local home for a cooking demonstration. Our host, Chitra, prepared 5 different dishes for us to observe. We also got to do some stirring and kneading. ( I think we may have been a little overdressed for the kitchen!)

It was fascinating to watch how they cook naan. After a short fry in the frypan, they then put it on the open flame to make it puff up.

The dinner was lovely…even I could eat a couple of the dishes.

The saris look great!
Very much into it now!
Sari in a sari!
So glad I’m not Indian – don’t think I could cope with the heat of wearing 5 metres of material!
On a serious note – you both looked very elegant in your saris xxxx
Beautiful. You can wear your sari when you visit the Taj Mahal too. I did! The hotels seem deserted. Are there many people around? Xx
You both look lovely and the room very comfortable!
How lovely! You are both truly glowing🩷
