Travel days: Singapore to Madrid
It’s amazing what you learn about your brother when you travel with him….his skin gets so dry from the air conditioning on the plane, that he has trouble going through immigration and providing a proper thumbprint. The Singapore authorities had to lend him some moisturiser so that his thumbprint was visible! And he struggles to put on his compression socks before boarding a flight because of his mangled arthritic hands. Not to mention that he lost his jacket on the way to the airport lounge and we had to retrace our steps……but he IS 83.!!!
Meanwhile Diana is doing her bit to enlarge my travel experience. Now I know how to carry insulin and needles around the world without being arrested for drug trafficking!!!
Anyway, we had a very relaxed time in Singapore. Visited a huge mall which had a Steinway shop ( when was the last time you saw a Steinway shop in a retail mall? And a sunglass shop with an interesting entrance. Sunglasses were cheap…only about $A500!

At the top of the mall was a nice restaurant with 360 deg views of Singapore. We stopped for coffee and carrot cake.

About to board plane for a lovely 12 hour flight to Madrid.
P.S. this blog has been sent to family as only you will all appreciate my travel tales!!!

Well done all!!
Oh dear poor dad! Yes it’s always interesting travelling with them. Safe travels on the next leg. Lots of love xx
No finger print, syringes and casing a luxury mall…sounds like the start of an action heist movie xx
I didn’t even know about the need for a thumb print! Haven’t travelled overseas since 2008 – security has changed
No – I have never seen a Steinway shop! How many pianos could they fit into one store???
Love you all – hope Warren us still feeling better xxxxx
You had me in stitches. Enjoy Pantzer’s xxxx
