Day 3: Saltwater creek to Bittangabee Bay
The second day of our walk started with heavy rain and it was much cooler than yesterday. Our walk didn’t actually start until lunchtime as we were treated to a cloudy and rainy cruise around Twofold Bay. Not too much to see at first apart from the rockpool at Asling Beach and my fellow travellers.

However the captain found us the most amazing pod of bottle nose dolphins. There were at least a hundred of them and they surrounded our boat and moved with us as we moved. They were very playful – they dived, did acrobats, and generally gave us a real show. It was a magical experience

It turns out that bottle nose dolphins are one of the most beloved species of dolphins in the world, known for their friendly and playful nature.
After the cruise, the rest of the group went off on their walk. I piked because of the rain. And I think I chose right, because there was a slippery creek to cross, and the group had to either leap across the creek or take their shoes off and walk through the water. In doing this, a number of water bottles and boots had to be retrieved and one of the walkers smashed her iPhone as she slipped across the creek ( the smashed iPhone probably protected her from more serious injury).
But here’s some of the lovely parts of nature seen along the way.

The day finished with a lovely dinner at the Seahorse inn and a briefing from our guide Jason about the final day of the walk.

It must have been a magical experience seeing the dolphins en masse. xx
Good decision to bypass the slippery creek xx
Great blog Sar… fantastic pics… lucky yous seeing so many dolphins… what a treat. We went swimming with dolphins yesterday… hilarious screaming obstructions to get into the water quickly look down let go of the rope… swim as they won’t wait for you… they are behind you… they are in front now… continued like that… from the boat it was easier to see them. You sound like you have a lovely group good history and scenery xxx
